NEW POST!
4 Eggs, Blue and Gold Macaw Babys should be on the way.
(as of 3/6/10)

Like last year we have 4 eggs laid. They should start hatching on about March 12. Last year only 2 of the 4 eggs hatched. I hope to not let 2 not make it this year but they are very protective of their eggs so it is tough to check them out every day. Pricing will be posted after we know how many birds hatch.

Below are photos from last years hatch. Those babies are wonderful and they both are talking a lot. One in English and the other in Spanish. :)

Contact me by Email birds@critterbreeders.com if you have questions. We are not interested in trades of any sort. If you want the baby when it is fully weaned we can do that at a price of $1050 but please read our link above about how to hand feed. We feel every bird owner needs to know how to do it.

Update!

The babies hatched and are growing like crazy. Here is a photo of the first week of their lives. Sadly the third egg didn't hatch.

Photos of last years B&G babies and parents.

The 3 photos of the birds nearly fully feathered show the birds at 8 weeks old and the last one is when 11 weeks old and fledged on 7/24/09.

Here are the proud parents. They are beautifully feathered and colored for breeders. many breeder macaws don't look too pretty because they use their feathers in the breeder boxes and also don't keep themselves groomed.

This is one of our favorite pairs we ever raised. They are harlequin Macaws. Sadly we do not have Harlequins any more. Due to some serious health problems we had to get out of the hands on bird business a while back. Happily I am back and now have Blue and Gold Macaws we are breeding.
